Yesterday I shared photos from our more "put-together" tree in our Texas side home. But today, I wanted to show you the more unkempt but way more fun Christmas tree at our home in Mexico -- it just so happens to be full of handmade, one of a kind pieces ;)

Spending the day making ornaments with the kids was so special. Yes, it was sometimes hectic (we only have so many hands to glue and glitter!) but together, Wade and I got to experience the joy of watching each child as they meticulously decorated their creations, found just the right spot on the tree, and were filled with wonder when the the job was complete. And then again as many of them brought their parents to see the "Pino Abuelito" (aka Grandpa Pine -- because it's white, hah!) that they had made (and named, btw.)

The day after we put up the tree, right before we left to go back to Texas, one of the children - Ana Karin - informed us that she would be looking after Pino Abuelito for us until we returned. I'd say it's in good hands.
