ok, there is nothing Valentine-ey about this chili, except that I made it today.  But it is Valentine's Day so I figured I needed to have it in the title!

My hubs and I have been hitting the gym hard lately and I thought it might be good to eat healthier too (sometimes... I should mention that I also made 6 dozen chocolate chip walnut cookies from scratch today too.  I only ate TWO!  Thats totally ok.  I'm sending them off to work with Wade so I won't be further tempted.)

So here is the recipe I put together (I just made it up as I went) for Black Bean Turkey Chili. We loved it, and hopefully you will too! This served two for dinner with leftovers that could feed two or three more.

What you will need:
* 1lb ground turkey
* 1 small white onion
* minced garlic to your liking
* 3 cans black beans
* 2 cans mild Rotel (diced tomatoes with jalepenos)
* 1 jalepeno chopped (optional)
* 1/4 cup water
* 4 tsp chili powder
* 1 tsp ground cumin
* 1/2 tsp pepper
* 1/4 salt

Directions:
1. Brown turkey, chopped onion, and minced garlic
2. Add all ingredients, including turkey into a slow cooker
3. Cook on low heat for about 4 or 5 hours (or high for a shorter amount of time)
4. Serve with cheese and chips! (not too much cheese now!  This is supposed to be healthy!)
