You know what my favorite part of worship is? No, it's not singing (although I do love that). It's not being surrounded by the most amazing musicians (but I gotta say, our band is incredible). It's not even the songs (these 4 are some of my favorites!)

The part I love most is what goes on inside. When I sing to the Lord -- on stage, in my car, while cleaning the house -- I find myself wanting to close my eyes and just get lost in it. (don't do this in the car!)
I try to focus on the words. What am I saying to God? About Him? Do I mean it?
I just wanted to share a little piece of my life with you all today. I sing with the band at church every 6 or 8 weeks (basically when I can be in town long enough!) and I seriously love it! Watch if ya wanna :)
[solo 3rd song in, but you should worship along to all of it! And then maybe even listen to the message!]

thanks for putting this into such beautiful words!

My husband and I are part of a new church and have become good friends with the pastor and his wife. We once had a discussion on how important music is for a service because everyone likes music. Some people may not relate well to words, but have you ever met someone who just says "I don't like music".
You are kind of a Jill of all trades aren't you?! :-) PTL for your talents, girl!
Always enjoy hearing you sing Kerrie!
You have a beautiful voice! Isn't it amazing how music and beautifully written words can focus our hearts on Jesus? Music/singing is one of my favorite ways to worship!
This is such a sweet post. I totally agree!

I love love LOVE worship. There's something so incredible about being surrounded by brothers and sisters all getting lost in the same love that we feel for our Savior. Can't wait to listen to this when I get home tonight :)
That's my favorite part, too. A lot of songs bring me to tears when I really listen to the words. I feel so close to God when that happens.
singing always brings me closer to god when i sing about him. it's amazing how peaceful you can feel when worshiping :)
