Por mi esposo,
Today, we are in Mexico. And it's sooo nice. I love being here. My favorite place in the world. And I love being with you. My most favorite person in the world. It doesn't get much better.
(photos from yesterday)
In pondering why I trust you so much, I don't have an answer. I could list of a number of reasons -- ways you've shown me that I can trust you. But ultimately, I trust you because I trust God. And God gave me you. I believe in you. I believe in our commitment to each other and our covenant with God.
You are the most committed person I know. You're a man of your word. If you say you're going to do something, you do it. You don't take your words lightly. You speak slowly. You think about what you are saying before you say it. You take your words that seriously.
Trust is 100%. Trust is like faith. It just is. You either have faith, or you don't. You either trust someone, or you don't. You can't kind of trust someone.
So, when we stood before God and you promised to love me -- for better and for worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health -- as long as we both live, I knew you meant it. I know that no matter what life throws at us, you'll always be true to your word. And I treasure that security.
Con Amor,
Your Girl

this is beautiful!
This is so, so amazing. That kind of trust is so rare these days, I know I've struggled with it. It is so reassuring to hear that it is possible to fully trust someone, to not have to stress if they will wake up one day and decide to leave. I don't know where that fear came from, because I've never exactly been abandoned or anything. But for some reason, in every relationship I've been in, I feel that fear. It causes sooo much stress, and that's not what a relationship should be about. I'm so glad I see that a relationship centered around faith comes with real trust. That is something that I am excited about, and definitely worth waiting for. Thank you for your encouragement :)
So heartfelt and beautiful! So glad you and your hubby have such a trusting relationship with each other :)
what a beautiful post :0) you are always so inspiring x
This is such a beautiful post. I just started reading Marriage on the Rock (by Jimmy Evans), and in the very first chapter he writes about knowing that only God can meet your deepest needs, and when the individuals in the marriage and the marriage/relationship are both built on the Rock, our needs are met. This immediately reminded me of that when you talked about trusting your husband because your trust and covenant with God. Thank you for sharing.
