This next month is going to be F-U-L-L! And I can't wait!
First off, my 26th birthday is on the 5th. Ugh.. not looking forward to the "turning 26" part.. but I am excited about my annual joint bday party with Nick and Zach (some friends from church)! I think we are going to have a bowling alley party, like when you were a kid! Should be a lot of fun :)
Second, INDIA!! Wade and I are going on a medical mission trip to India this month! It is going to be so exciting! A definite adventure considering the village we were supposed to go to has had mudslides and now we can't get in. So, we are going to another village (I'm sure all in God's planning) where we are going to be "roughing it" even more than before! I was told not to worry.. there will be a hole with a screen for me to use as the bathroom. AHH! haha I love it. But I'm sure I will be happy to get back to a real toilet! 4 days without a shower or electricity should be fun as well. So in the pictures I'm gonna be looking niiiiice.. and have greasy hair I'm sure! I can't wait to see Wade be one of the two pharmacists there! I am already proud and we haven't even gotten there yet! We are setting up a medical camp and then the last day going to a leprocy colony! Something we MUST remember: Do NOT use our left hands! It is considered very offensive since it is the hand that is for "wiping".. ya know.. wiping. Mmhmm! So no eating or touching anyone/anything with that hand! Wade and I tried to practice that when we went to an Indian restuarant and it is not as easy as it may sound!
Then, we turn around and go to Mexico! My heart land! There is no place I'd rather be! I can't wait to go and see all the beautiful little faces I think about each day! Its the place I met the love of my life (aside from God) and its always awesome to go there with him. AND this time my Dad is coming as well! Its his first foreign mission trip and I just know he's gonna love it!
Now we've just gotta get ready for it all! Thats easy enough right?

City on a Hill
I am going to be posting another blog right after this, which tells me that I need to keep this more up-to-date!
City on a Hill is a community missions project where each month I will be planning and promoting a missional opportunity for the partners at Lifepoint to get involved in. The first month we encouraged everyone to fill up a cooler with water and take it out somewhere in the community to give away! Me, Audrey, Quinton, and their daughter Deci went to a make-shift soccer field in Audrey's grandpa's back yard. I loved it because they were really thankful, and suprised, that we came just to give them some water during their game! I also loved it because only a few of the players spoke English so I got to practice my Spanish!
This month, we partnered with Hardees to provide breakfast for the staff at two elementary schools in Albertville! A bunch of people came to the church early in the morning to stuff TWO types of biscuits into hardees bags along with a note saying we appreciate their role in our community and then we loaded them up and took them to the school! Over the next 24 hours, I recieved at least 15 emails from teachers thanking us for thinking of them! We are going to continue ministering there throughout the school year. We have officially adopted them and I'm so excited to think of creative ways to meet their needs! If any of you have any ideas I would love to hear them!
Here are some pictures of this months City on a Hill.

Early Birthday!
Yesterday my husband suspiciously had me cancel my workout with my trainer, and made sure I had no plans for the day. I had no idea why, he just said he has a suprise planned! I wracked my brain with possibilities which were ruled out, one by one, throughout the day. While at lunch at Cantina Laredo (best Guacamole EVER!) he finally told me what the suprise would be! A NEW CAMERA! He got it for me for my birthday (which is a month away) and took me to the camera store to pick it out! I got a Nikon 5000! I've never had a nice camera before so I've been reading the manual and practicing. I have a month until we leave for India and I really want to be able to use it well by then! Here are some of my very first pictures with the camera.
