story book romance

I am so loved! And I love him more everyday! Who do I mean? Wade? God?... Both! At lifepoint Albertville, they have been going through the Beatitudes for an InsideOut series. This week Wade and I were at that campus because of some Mexico business (or so we thought) but I think God had other reasons for us to be there! The beatitude was on God's view of Divorce.
We have already made our stand against any option of divorce in our future. We are commited to our commitment to God. I made a covenent with Him when I entered into covenent with Wade.
The scripture says that God's only exception for divorce is unfaithfulness. It was after that when Matt said something I've known, but never really thought about. He reminded us that even when we are unfaithful, God doesn't divorce us. Wow. How much does God love me?!?! Its amazing. It made me feel so humbled and loved by my God. I was in awe.
Matt went on to talk about how it is important not to give up on your relationship with your spouse. And how it is not even so much getting to the point where you gaze lovingly at eachother (which is great and wonderful!) but more so gazing in the same direction - at God and his direction!
I started to picture Wade and I in Mexico in December of 2006.. both walking toward a church, on a mission. And then we looked beside us to see one another. Both gazing in the same direction then being shoulder to shoulder.

seriously, am I the most blessed wife in the world?!!? I feel like it everyday. He is so amazing.
When I went back for the second service I ran into a friend that I hadn't seen in a while and she asked how married life was. I always answer, "I LOVE IT!" She then gave me such an awesome compliment! She said that when she thinks of fairytale romance, she pictures Wade and me and how we met on the mission field. God knew exactly how and when we should meet. Thank you God for being so faithful to us and showing us your love. My prayer is that we will show that example to others through our marriage!

When I ran home between services, Wade had written me a note and laid it on the counter...

there is a time for everything

This weekend Wade and I (mostly me cause Wade works this week) got to keep Deci over at our apartment! Its been a LOT of fun and a lot of work! I always knew that Audrey had a full time job being a mom, but now i KNOW KNOW it. haha. I love being an Aunt and I REALLY love being a wife right now. Its right where I want to be! and hopefully in the next year I will be an Aunt of two or possibly three! What fun!
But for now, I'm gonna stick to the "wife" part and focus on the "wife and mom" later.. much later!

birthday boy!

Yesterday was Wade's 26th Birthday! We went to Huntsville and had sushi for lunch. Wade should be on the Bizzare Foods show. He will try ANYTHING! He ordered Octopus, and it had the little suction cups on it! I wanted to be able to say I've eaten raw Octupus, so I tried it. And then after about 45 seconds of chewing and getting NOWHERE I had to spit it out in a napkin! The more I chewed the more juice was squished out of the octopus, filling my mouth. It was disgusting! But Wade liked it. He likes everything!
After that adventure, we spent the day using our gift cards from the wedding to buy the things that we needed (and wanted!) Sheesh, putting together a cohesive home is hard! I'm the worst decision maker EVER so for the most part we decided to wait until we are in a more permenant home.

It is so hard to decide what to do next! We have to be out of my apartment by August 1st and we dont know where to go! We dont want to buy a house unless we LOVE it and can grow a family in it. We are contemplating building (which will be hard, but probably the best choice) on his dad's property. So, I guess we are going to be moving into another apartment or rental home until we figure it out. Its all part of the newlywed process I suppose! All part of the fun!

Later that night we ate at Bonefish Grill with Bradley and Jamie. It was so nice! A really fancy place and the Bam Bam Shrimp was INCREDIBLE! Best thing EVER.

The best part of Wade's birthday was getting to spend the whole day together! I never get tired of being with Wade. I LOVE IT! We have so much fun together and laugh all the time.

"it smells like old bread!"

Today Wade and I went on a tour of the Jack Daniels distillery with the leadership team from the church we've helped plant (Lifepoint Brindlee Mountain). Sounds like a strange place for this kind of event, but afterwards we learned some leadership lessons from the successful Jack and his successors.

It was a pretty good tour. Wade loved it. He's really into that kind of stuff. I thought it was pretty neat, but the smell was awful! At first us girls were grossed out by the "old, moldy bread" smell, but was nothing compared to the AWFUL scents inside the distillery! Oh, there is nothing to compare to it that would even come close to describing the stench. The fermenting room was the worst! Two of the girls with us were literally forcing themselves NOT to throw up! It was bad. And gross. There were these HUGE vats of .. yeast I guess? I have no idea. It was brown liquid and it looked like it was boiling.. except it wasn't. The bubbles was the fermentation. yuck! But, despite the smell, it was a lot of fun.

I laughed a LOT today.

This week (tomorrow hopefully) Wade and I start HOUSE HUNTING!! ahh! I'm excited but it is such a huge decision! Lord, please lead us in the right direction!

"New Hair, New Clothes, and A New Husband"

Thats what I said this morning while I was getting ready for church. Wade loved that he came 3rd on the list haha. I told him it was in order of newest to oldest, and I've had him longer than the clothes from Audrey and my shopping trip and my haircut. I also tried to convince him I was saving the best for last ;)

He really is the best part of everything new in my life. I love being married.

I haven't had my hair short since high school. I hate that I can say this, but that was more than 7 years ago! Back then, I had not discovered the Straight Iron. I hated my hair short because it was wavy and frizzy. But NOW... I do have a straightner. so I decided to give it another shot and i LOVE it! So here are a few pictures of my newly cut quaf.

10 Days Married

It has been just hours over 10 days since we said "I DO!" Our wedding was an interesting one! It probably appeared normal and put together to the attendees, but as for the rest of us... we know better!

You see, for 9 months I planned an outdoor wedding in Wade's Dad's backyard. For 6 months his dad worked to make the yard plush and green and looking incredible. The day before the wedding, we unloaded 250 gorgeous gold chiavallri chairs and lined them up in perfect lines in that same backyard, dodging the sprinkling rain as we went. We rehearsed (3 times, because I kept zoning out.. I couldnt pay attention to what the pastor was telling us to do because I kept thinking how surreal it all was!) and enjoyed a really good BBQ dinner afterwards.

The next morning, my worries for rain were confirmed. There was no chance of a dry day. It rained the entire night and wasn't supposed to stop all day. So, while my bridal party and I got our hair done, the groomsmen, my groom, our families, and many friends restacked the 250 chairs, loaded them into the truck, and moved my wedding to a local church (thank the LORD they saved it for us that day!) Everyone worked so hard to give me the wedding of my dreams. I would never have had such a beautiful wedding if it were not for them. I will never be able to thank them enough!

It was really awesome having a "suprise wedding" as I call it. I never imagined how beautiful it would look. I cant wait to have pictures to post of what my friends and family created! The wedding was such a "suprise" that we never got to rehearse in the church and Wade came out and didn't know where to stand! Once the bridesmaids were down front they were pointing for Wade to move because he was in the wrong place! haha it was amazing though, I had no idea. All I could see or think about was Wade, standing in front of me, waiting to become my husband. I dont remember anyone else.. just us. I felt so full, complete. Thank you Jesus for such a wonderful husband! and he is so handsome! ;)

Well, since that day, we spent a week on a cruise ship, sailing the Western Carribbean. LOVED IT! I dont know how ANYONE could ever go hungry on a cruise ship! I definitly made up for my "prewedding diet!"

We're home now, and I decided to start this blog to document all the interesting things I'm sure we will experience as NEWLYWEDS! It should be a fun and entertaining 1st year! I'm so happy :)
